Girl Power #1: i personaggi femminili che hanno insegnato come comportarsi con i ragazzi

Quante volte siamo rimasti delusi davanti ad uno schermo a pensare alla protagonista di un tv show che si ANNULLA per un uomo? Quante volte siamo rimasti delusi nell’iniziare un telefilm e nel trovare una ragazza che è la protagonista di “SCEGLI IL RAGAZZO: il telefilm.”

Alcune delle ragazze che vi proporrò di seguito – anche se schiave della passione e dell’amore – hanno saputo il fatto loro. E’ come quando Felicity realizzò che poteva stare con Ben perché non aveva bisogno di Ben. Perché era riuscita a superare la sofferenza in precedenza.

Vediamo queste protagoniste del piccolo schermo che ci hanno resi fieri:

Non lasciate che i maschietti vi abbiano così facilmente. Voi siete di più, voi VALETE di più. Non lasciate che lo stronzo di turno, che vi fa battere il cuore più veloce del solito, abbia la meglio. Se vi VOGLIONO, devono conquistarvi.

Rory Gilmore – You didn’t think I was going to pine…

Rory: [to Jess, on the phone] Jess, is that you? Jess, I’m pretty sure it’s you and I’m pretty sure you’ve been calling and not saying anything but wanna say something. Hello? You’re not going to talk? Fine, I’ll talk. You didn’t handle things right at all. You could’ve talked to me. You could’ve told me that you were having trouble in school and weren’t going to graduate, and that your dad had been there, but you didn’t. And you ended up not taking me to my prom and not coming to my graduation and leaving again without saying goodbye again, and that’s fine, I get it, but that’s it for me. I’m going to Europe tomorrow and I’m going to Yale and I’m moving on. And I’m not going to pine. I hope you didn’t think I was going to pine, okay? I think… I think I may have loved you, but I just need to let it go. So, that’s it, I guess. Um, I hope you’re good. I want you to be good, and, um, okay, so, goodbye. That word sounds really lame and stupid right now, but there it is. Goodbye.

Dovete saper dire BASTA. C’è un limite alla sofferenza che si può provare in una relazione. Prendete Jess: Rory gli ha dato tutte le occasioni del mondo, lui non le ha mai sapute cogliere. In quel caso, dovete volervi bene, prendere la decisione difficile e FINIRLA. E non dovete fargli credere che soffrirete. Non dovete. Magari torneranno poi e vi diranno anche che vi amano a Yale!

Buffy – “Me”

Ok, non dovete uccidere i vostri fidanzati, ma ciò che Buffy può insegnarci è che l’arma più potente che abbiamo siamo proprio noi stessi. E quando la persona che amate cerca di sminuirvi, ricordateglielo.

You knew it, and you still pursued me. Because you want something with me. You just aren’t strong enough to have it. Which… in a way, makes you a coward. And the saddest part is that one day, you’re gonna wake up and you’re gonna realize what you missed and it’ gonna be too late.

Non compromettetevi mai. Non scendete mai a patti, anche se li amate da morire. Amate voi stessi prima di tutto. Scegliete voi stessi, prima di tutto. Non dovete cambiare per qualcuno che vi piace, non dovete costringervi ad essere qualcosa che non siete, quello non è amore. Prima di tutto, abbiate amor proprio. Dopo che lo avrete acquisito, conquisterete anche il ragazzo!
